Whats the best synthesizer/vocoder for under $300?
I've recently heard of one called microKORG, my friend has it. It seems pretty awesome but I'm trying to find out if theres any synth/vocoders out there that are any better than the microKORG one.
What I'm looking for is something that I can use both the synth to make the beats and whatnot and the vocoder to alter my voice. That I can also connect to my computer so I can record everything onto REAPER (program like garageband). So yeah, anyone know one thats as good or better than the microKORG?
Answer:
I advice you strongly to ignore the two spam posters here. This is the same individual with a heap of Y!A accounts, spreading a load of copy-and-paste answers about things they have no clue about. These IDs are being reported several times every day.
Both posters' links include the Amazon affiliate ID: tag=digitsy-post3-20 - in other words it is the same spammer hoping to scrape a couple of bucks of the decent posters here. Pathetic as well as illegal practice. Feel free to help report it...
As for your question, I would rather post it in he Performing Arts or Music, Other section. More qualified people there.
Personally, I would ask a store employee at a dedicated keyboard dealer directly for advice. I might also check with online retailers such as Musicians Friend, which have most models including reviews - or go to one of the dedicated forums and ask players there for opinions. In any case - get some real advice from people who actually knows what they're talking about, not just a stupid spammer.
Best of luck to you

Weather Report 830 Jazz Music CD Review
The exceptionally talented Jazz group Weather Report have released their CD entitled 830. I am very confident and happy to announce that I believe Weather Report fans, and Jazz fans alike will be pleased with this one. With the release of 830 their artistic excellence is on full display as they have once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks that could very well be their best work to date.
Weather Report have been a super stars in the Jazz genre for quite some time now and 830 is an excellent illustration as to why.
Weather Report is one of those groups that have the ability to just bowl you over with their collective talent. The kind of musicians it’s really a treat to be able to listen to.
830 is a pleasantly varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly gifted musicians. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.
Overall 830 is an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up and is most definitely a worthy addition to any Jazz collection. Truly an outstanding Jazz CD. One of those that is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.
While this entire album is outstanding some of my favorites are track 3 - A Remark You Made, track 5 - In A Silent Way, and track 12 - Sightseeing
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - Black Market. This is a great track!
