Online Recording Studios: Get Professionally Recorded Drum Tracks And Save A Ton Of Money
Why would you want to know about online recording studios? Because the traditional costs of using a recording studio can be out of reach for many. Many of those reading this article have experienced this first hand. This article will provide a brief overview of the huge opportunity presented by online recording studios.
Traditionally speaking, you have to pay for studio time on an hourly basis. Even if you are well-prepared with arrangements, time can go by quickly in the studio and end up costing you plenty. And regarding drum tracks, if the studio does not have a drum kit permanently set up you will be paying for studio time as the drums are set up, while dialing in the drum sounds, of course during the recording of the drum tracks. All of these expenses are enough to deter many people from getting the pro tracks that their music needs. Some may try to play their own keyboard or guitar tracks when they really need the help of professional musicians to get the happenin’ tracks they need.
Some may end up programming backing drum tracks with drum samples, wasting too much time and ending up with bland, uninspired drum tracks.
Some may want a Rhodes piano or a Wurlitzer for their track but end up using a cheesy synth version.
There is a solution to the exorbitant costs of getting professional studio services whether you need drum tracks, bass tracks, or any other service.
That solution is the use of an online recording studio and a session drummer online and any other session musicians you might need. This refers to a recording studio that offers its services online. In almost all cases, these online services are offered for a much less expensive price than normal rates.
Of course, once you get down to a certain price point you may be dealing with a a lesser studio, but that is for you to research and determine for yourself. Generally, there are some excellent online recording studios that offer high quality services at fair prices.
For example, many of these online recording studios offer custom drum tracks at a price ranging from $100 to $300 for each drum track. The $300 per drum track price could still save you money, because you are paying only per service (in this case the recording of the drum tracks)without paying for studio time by the hour. Paying a flat fee for each service also means not paying for the time required to set up and tear down, not having to pay for cartage, not having to pay engineers, and no nervously watching the clock. There is no need to worry about how much time the drum tracks take to get together because it is a flat fee! This of course applies to keyboard tracks, guitar tracks, or any other instrument.
These online recording studios are also very convenient in that the process is easy. You don’t have to go anywhere, except to your computer, and you also are not responsible for getting studio musicians to the recording studio. This again saves you money, because often session musicians charge for transportation costs, including gas expense, possible plane tickets, and a per diem.
Because of the traditionally high costs of getting professionally recorded tracks, only high-budget projects could afford pro recording studio services in the past. Everyone else had to go through the entire process using their own home recording devices. Now those with a fairly modest budget can afford to get drum tracks and other professional studio services, online. This is a great development for music in general, and great for the ability of newly elligible people to develop their musical ideas in to something that really sounds the way they envision it, or sometimes way better!
Take note of the fact that many of these online recording studios offer mixing (and mastering) services as well. To be very blunt, too many talented people ruin their music by trying to do the mix themselves. It takes an experienced ear to get a good (let alone great) mix within a remotely reasonable time frame, and a pro mix can make a truly invaluable difference in your music.
So do yourself a favor and research the various online recording studios that are out there. Make the right choices and you will end up with the professional touch you need to do your music justice.
