M-Audio 88 Key Keystation Pro HELP?
So I bought this for my girlfriend so she could play in her dorm room at college. I knew nothing about MIDI keyboards, so I just assumed it would be plug and play.
Okay, I understand that MIDI =/= sound, blah blah blah. However, they keyboard did come with software (Ableton LIVE). The keyboard comes with a USB cable that will plug directly into her laptop. I plugged this into the respective ports, and installed the software. It does not even register the instrument on the software.
So a few questions. I want to use her laptop as the MIDI "station" per se. Is it possible, and what equipment would I need (cheap please. XD), to connect the keyboard to the laptop to an EXTERNAL speaker? (Amplifier, etc.)
Also, being my first MIDI keyboard, I don't really even know the basics. So a bit of a walkthrough for setup would be nice as well.

Go into Control panel ( "start", "settings", "controlpanel") on your computer and delete the midi keyboard. Reinstall it per the instructins that came with it. Take your time. Does it say, "First plug in the keyboard, then install the software"? Order of sequence is important.

Different Types of Guitar Amps
Once you have selected your guitar, you require finding an amp to go with it. Today there are various options available depending on size, sound, amplifier technology and configuration. We are here to give you some useful and necessary information that would steer you through the maze.
Various types of Amplifiers
There are basically four types of guitar amplifiers: Solid-state (analog), Tube, Modeling (digital), and Hybrids.
Solid-state Amps - These guitar amps are recognized solid-state as they use transistors for their preamp and for power sections as an alternative of tubes. They are extremely trustworthy and hardly ever require repairs. They normally have a very fresh tone, even though many come with "distortion" channels also.
