Whats the best brand of french horn for marching band?(high school)?

What type of French horn is better for a person in high school marching band?
For beginners...
Answer:
It's a giant leap from trombone to horn, and you'll find it much more difficult to play. I've never been in a marching band, but I started with a Paxman single F student model when I was 11. It was about 2 years before I graduated to an Alexander 103 F/Bb horn, and that's what I play now. The Paxman single F is a good instrument for beginners, as there isn't as much resistance as full double horns, and, as there is less tubing, it's easier to carry. You will need to adopt a completely different embouchure, and, because the harmonic range is so wide, prepare yourself for many split notes. All I can do, is wish you the very best of luck:-)
