With Nintendo Wii Fun For Everyone Is A Guarantee
We here at the Wii Showroom have researched the pros and cons of owning a Wii. I will start off by first stating why you should maybe NOT buy a Wii Console (i.e. the bad). Hmmm...Hmmm...Hmmm...Pondering....Hmmm...sorry, but we honestly could not find any cons to owning a Wii console.
So lets focus on the pros and why we fully believe owning your own Wii will bring you hours of fun entertainment. NINTENDO WII IS FOR EVERYONE - irrespective of whether you are a hard core 35 year old gamer still living in your old lady's basement because of your gaming obsession or if you are a grandpa who is as scared of anything remotely technology related like someone who is allergic to bee's, and every time you see a console you go running as if it is the mother of all bee hives. The Wii has such a diverse collection of games and is so easy, interactive and fun to play with its intuitive motion controls that everyone in the family, whether it be the hard core gamer nephew or gramps, will enjoy some or other aspect of it.
Watching Granpa showing off his boxing skills in Wii Fit Boxing is almost just as much fun as playing Wii games yourself. As long as Gramps can still throw a few punches he will be able to show you some of his combinations. No experience needed - except his boxing skills of course. What I'm trying to say is that no other console can bridge so many generation gaps by providing such a fun, user friendly and interactive social gaming experience. If you don't enjoy it you probably also don't like puppies, ice cream or having fun - in which case you’re a lost cause anyways, so sorry, nothing (not even 1000 free Wii games) or no-one will be able to help your grumpy ass (excuse my french, but some folks just don't get it).
Lets just quickly run through a few Wii Games so that you can have some idea of what to expect. I will try and keep it short so that you don't get bored, but still end up having a better understanding as to why wii (and by wii I mean we...get it… wii we wii we wii we, sorry getting a bit carried away with a lame cheesy joke hey?).....why we are of the opinion that you'll be hard pressed to find a console that can be so easily played by any age group.
The Wii collection of games is extremely diverse. From the legendary Mario Bros to Sports Games, Racing Games and Adventure Games, to jamming with Guitar Hero. There is definitely a game available for everyone in the Wii collection and too many to mention here (please refer to the Wii Showroom game pages after reading this article to check out some of the best games available). You will have dizzying experiences in Super Mario Galaxy as Mario runs upside down through wild and wonderful alien worlds that are an absolute joy to explore. Even though this is not nescessarily a hard core gamers game, it's probably also not for anyone who is still a bit weary of gaming consoles. For the ultimate Mario fan there is a whole collection of other Mario Games available, from Mario & Sonic at the Olympics to Mario Kart.
Everybody has a favourite song right? Well then, if you want some entertianment for that next boring family seminar then get out Wii Guitar Hero 5. You can do some serious family bonding when you form a band to jam together, providing you have one of the bundle packages that include various instrument controllers, or each one can be a rockstar on their own. Uncle John can have everyone in stitches when he sings his favourite and ridiculously funny Bob Dylan song. The wii Showroom and Nintendo irrevocably deny any responsibility for the pain and suffering caused by Uncle Tim And Aunty Sylvia's duet, which probably sounds more like two Crows fighting over some food than a rock song. Just remember there might be some serious consequences when handing the microphone out left, right and center for everyone to sing. However, get the family involved in this game and lots of fun and laughter is definitely on the cards!
Wii Fit most certainly also deserves a quick mention. Now you'll probabbly think I'm crazy, but thanks to Wii exercising has become a whole lot more fun than it use to be? Somehow though, playing a fitness simulation type game changes everything. There is snowball, boxing, skateboarding, yoga, aerobics and obstacle courses to but mention a few and the Wii Balance board makes for a interesting and fun gaming experience. Just by playing a few games you'll be working up a sweat, you heart will be getting some exercise and Mr.Couch Potatoe will be no more as you start exercising while you are gaming. There are some tougher exercise programs and even though these will improve your general fitness and health, I wouldn't back on becoming as fit as Bruce Lee was but at least you'll be exercising and having fun....I'm being dead serious....exercise while you’re having fun. Impossible? Just give it a shot Mr.Couch Potatoe.
There is another aspect of gaming that I personally view very important…time limitation. Who in today's rushed world has time to really sit down and get to know all the ins and outs of a game, so that you can play it from start to finish. Most of us just don't have time to become hard core gamers. With our hectic daily lives and responsibilities like work, going to the shops for groceries, studying, family responsibilities, those boring household chores etc. etc. etc.....with so much to do in so little time and all the daily problems we encounter our lives, all the average guy in the street wants is a fun gaming experience that provides a bit of a challenge which isn't over complicated or requires hours of gameplay to decipher. Nintendo Wii Games provides all of that with the added bonus of being able to provide an awesome interactive social experience. But don't be fooled though, this is no Mickey Mouse Gaming Console. It is just able to connect with people who have different levels of gaming experience whether it be your first time playing or game number 1000. Wii is therefore probably the best all round gaming console available today.
Fans of the other consoles can play down the Wii all they want to, but the fact remains: The Nintendo Wii is the most user friendly gaming option around for the average Joe (with the option to take it up a level if you wish to and have the time). The awesomeness of the Wii is proved by another rather important fact.....Nintendo Wii is the fastest selling gaming console of all time. The facts are there and numbers don't lie. Millions upon millions of people have bought and are already enjoying the Wii and surely millions more will. Whether you will ever experience this magnificent social gaming console is of course entirely up to you. Nintendo Wii is truly for you, and me, and everyone out there who wants to enjoy gaming.. So what's holding you back?
