After criss-crossing the country by thumb and working at more than 50 odd jobs over the course of ten years, Coke finally went to college, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and cum laude in journalism from Colorado State University. He worked for three years as a newspaper feature writer, then features editor in Colorado.
He has spent the last decade as a media relations officer for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at world headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is an internationally known authority on Mormon history and doctrine, and has been quoted or bylined in more than 1000 periodicals, including the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, USA Today and Columbian Journalism Review.
As a writer, Coke has sold everything from greeting card verse to humor to documentary television scripts. His series on “The Spiritual Foundations of Fathering” ran in more than 1100 newspapers in the United States.
He lives with his teenage sweetheart, Cindy, and their seven children in northern Utah.
